t wasn't long before Malcolm was winning fans in Canada too. He brought his political passions with him, and was soon out on the campaign trail, drumming up support for the New Democratic Party, or NDP. He harnessed his coaching of high-school athletes by organizing training runs up and down local streets. The twist was that the runners had to put a leaflet supporting the NDP in every house they passed! Malcolm and Isabelle made many great friends in Canada, and missed them dearly when they emigrated back to the UK permanently in 1973.
